About The Event
PROPER PUNKTUATION
Amanda, Chuck, and Liz first got to know each other when chance put them in the same cabin at Camp Proper. Bonding over their love of ghost stories, scare quotes, and the oxford comma, they quickly realized they would be life-long friends. Of course life rarely works out the way we think it will in our youth, and they didn’t meet again until almost a decade later. Catching up over a drink at the local pub, they decided to take control of their friendship this time and form a band. Heavily influenced by the songs sung ‘round the fire at Camp Proper, Proper Punktuation sings catchy tales about the end of days, weaving together strands of serendipity, friendship, and an infectious certainty that times they are a-changing
ALEX & THE WONDERLAND
In 2017 a small plant sprung to life from the bud of Alex Wonderland's imagination, aspirations, and melodic dreams. Leaves started to appear and grow on this plant, which soon waved in harmony, once fed rhythm. Since then, Alex and the Wonderland have hopped along through the rural lanes of England during summer festival seasons, and into the urbanised purple haze of London's best loved small music venues. They've shared cable adorned stages with the likes of Alabama 3, Ian Dury's Blockheads, and Toploader.
The current lineup reveals Alex on guitar/piano and vocals, Pablo (Italy) on drums, Maria (Bulgaria) on violin and Singe (Moon) on bass... + special guests joining in on the act include brass sections, Jamaican MCs, and West African percussionists; to Spinney Lainey (flute), Ese & Sheena of Alabama 3 (vocals), Dana Immanuel (banjo) and Dub FX (beat-boxing).
Wonderland's first single "Love's Louder" was released in December 2019, broadcast on over 10 radio stations in the UK (FM and online), and recieved favourable reviews from its presenters.
Follow up release “Searching for myself” is available from 8th May 2020 through all digital platforms, and sees Wonderland sonically depart Britain, and head out west toward Americana Country, with the help of Dana Immanuel on banjo, and former The Voice finalist and mentee of Sir Tom Jones - Lara Lee, contributing vocal harmonies.
