Ildefons Alonso Quartet
Rhythm is one of the most powerful elements to attract attention. Time dosed strategically, can pull the thread of the unconscious and let emerge ideas that are awaiting for the opportunity to pop up and fill and enrich any musical experience.
With these premises, the Catalan drummer Ildefons Alonso has gathered two British and two Catalan musicians to explore songs of the jazz repertoire and some of his own compositions, wich are almost-songs that only miss the lyrics. They are, at the same time, a space, a rhythmic and expressive challenge where Lucas Martínez, James Kitchman and Rhys Lovell will dialogue.
Ildefons Alonso is a drummer based in London, where is studying a Masters degree in Jazz and Composition at The Royal Academy of Music. He is a sensible and musical drummer who plays with delicacy and inventiveness. His background includes a broad experience in classical percussion, an undergrad in classical piano and years of drums playing in several jazz, pop and rock projects. He has released Metrinova Vol. 1 (Underpool Records) on 2016. Nowadays he studies a masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music and tours with the Catalan indie pop band El Petit de Cal Eril.
